McCONNELL FIELD, Nashville‘s first municipal airport, is shown in 1938. It was located in West Nashville, today the site of McCabe Golf Course, and was named in honor of Lieutenant Brower McConnell, who had died in an air crash at Langley Field, Va., in 1927, the year the Nashville airfield opened.
